You can’t have pizza hummus without pizza sauce, which is made with our featured superfood #Tasting, tomatoes! Reimagine the ways you can try tomatoes this month! While the white spuds that are traditionally used for French fries and mashed potatoes need no introduction, potatoes actually come in a variety of sizes and colors, from gold to blue! Different colored potatoes provide different nutrients, so #eatarainbow this month and try a new variety.

Tastings… Although superfood tomatoes are a staple in our daily diets, there are many different ways to try them in ways you haven’t imagined!
Our Tastings program made to offer samples of nutritious foods in enticing ways. As we know, healthy eating is about balance and variety. While many children are interested in different kinds of foods and are willing to try new things, others are often averse to trying new foods. Ongoing encouragement to try a small amount of a new, healthy food or dish is key in acceptance –and enjoyment! –of this food. It can then be incorporated into the menu soon after the tasting and on an ongoing basis for students.
